Scandalous Women....

Tuesday, 24 June 2008

Sylvie featured this blog as 'Blog of the Day' a while ago and ever since then I have been hooked.

If you have even the tiniest interest in history ... whether it it be way back (Cleopatra) or more recent (Lana Turner) .. whether it be US, UK or Europe, Elizabeth Kerri Mahon has something for everyone, her research is tremendous, with great insight, empathy and balanced writing about her subjects ... do pop along to Scandalous Women.
You won't be disappointed.

Has blogging changed your life?

Monday, 23 June 2008

I hope you all had a good week-end and that Monday has not been too much of a shock to the system?
I did not think I would be writing another post here today...but there is still a lick of paint that needs to be added before we can officially open the door to the new blog house...

Tomorrow will be the day...I am not sure I should give you an eta I think that would be bad luck...Let's just say that we are hoping to show off our brand new blog at some point in the morning :)

In the meantime, I would like to ask you fuelers if blogging has changed your life in any way?

We have all read the success stories, Petite Anglaise is a blogger that jumps to mind. Blogging affected and shaped her life in so many ways.
Blogging has enabled me to connect with people and to make friends in my non web life that to me is priceless.
Has blogging opened doors for you? Ok so you may not have been able to stop the day job or to pay your mortgage off but blogging may have given you opportunities. I would love to hear it from you ;)

What blog inspired you to start your own?

Saturday, 21 June 2008

My first blog which has since been deleted was just a copy of my cv transferred onto a basic Blogger template.
I was a very shy blogger at the time and in fact had little idea of what to do next. As far as I was concerned it was just going to be an online cv and I had zero intention of doing anything with it.

I can't remember how I came across Dooce. I liked many aspects of her blog. The design, the photos, her writing style, in short all the reasons that have made her blog successful.
The one thing that really stood out for me then was the huge insight that her blog gave on her life and personality.

I really felt as a reader that Heather B Armstrong opened the doors of her own house. Reading her blog was a bit like sitting in her living room and spending 5 minutes with Heather.

Her blog inspired me to look at blogging differently and to start a more personal blog.

I guess I have Dooce to thank for that.

So, here is my question, what blog inspired you to blog differently?
